HSS annular cutters, designed to drill various materials like stainless steel, copper, plastic, mild steel, and cast iron, serve in different industries, such as mining, engineering, construction, gas, and oil. Konetool offers both high-speed steel annular bit and TCT annular cutter. We fabricate HSS annular drill bits with M35 cobalt alloyed high-speed steel which allows our annular bits to cut faster and work longer than standard M2 HSS cutters. Compared with M2 HSS, M35 adds extra 5% cobalt, resulting in better hot hardness. This type of material combines both toughness and hardness, allowing for better cutting ability, high red hardness, and high wear resistance.

Advantages of HSS Annular Cutters:

Though carbide is harder than HSS, the HSS core drill bit also has its advantages. Compared with high-speed steel, carbide is much harder but innately brittle, so it can break easily when under re-grinding. Re-sharpening a carbide annular cutter can be time-consuming, while it is much easier to re-sharpen HSS annular drill bits. Apart from this, the HSS mag drill bit is made of a solid block of steel, while TCT annular cutters are brazed with carbide teeth which may shatter more easily.
